Just a Little Background on Lisa

Hello, my name is Lisa Meier, also known as “The Ghia Girl.”  Restoring and collecting Karmann Ghias has been a hobby and a passion of mine for 25 years. Over the years, I have restored many Karmann Ghias including cars from all three decades.

One of my goals is to preserve or restore these cars back to their original factory condition, to a high level of precision and accuracy.   I have been a paid consultant on high-dollar restorations here in the USA and also other countries. I have also helped in answering inquiries from all over the world about Ghias, Ghia restoration, Ghia conundrums and Ghia parts. I truly enjoy sharing my knowledge and being able to help others with their projects.

Another goal of mine is to show collectors and other automotive enthusiasts how amazing these coach-built cars really are. I feel that Karmann Ghias are undervalued and unappreciated for what they represent … graceful body lines with simple, but proven engineering.  I hope that restoring these cars to a top level and exposing them not only to the VW crowd but also to the classic car crowd will open the eyes of the collector car market.

I find some level of success in these endeavors, including being the first USA winner of the International Karmann Ghia Automotoclub Storico Italiano Coucours d’Elegenace and the Sartorelli-Segre Perpetual Award.

Thank you for visiting my website!
